Flight Safety International
Broken Arrow, Oklahoma
FlightSafety International provides world-class training for operators of business and regional aircraft. Needham DBS teamed up with Crossland Construction to provide a Design Build Steel package for the FlightSafety project in Broken Arrow OK. The facility manufactures and tests simulators. The building footprint is 242,500 square feet and consists of three main areas. The 150’ x 700’ x 40’ clear High Bay manufacturing area, a 150’ x 700’ 2-story manufacturing and office area, and a 130’ x 250’ 2-story office. The high bay manufacturing area contained a 20-ton, 8-wheel, 121’ span, top-running crane for the length of the manufacturing bay. The foundation was designed for drilled piers due to the expansive soil.
Needham DBS provided engineering, detailing and fabrication of the entire steel package, a true design/build delivery method, phasing the 800 tons of steel in 4 sequences to meet the requirements of the erector. Needham DBS provides high quality Field Use Erection Sheets with every project.
