C-130 Corrosion Control Hangar
Hill AFB, Utah
The project was a two-bay paint and de-paint corrosion control hangar. Each hangar bay has a clear area of 165 feet wide by 150 feet deep. The structure used a front box truss with front to back roof trusses. The mechanical equipment is housed in the center of the box truss and in the center core area.
The building uses a MegaDoorâ„¢ brand vertical lift, fabric door. The paint bay uses three telescoping work platforms suspended from the roof structure. All offices and support functions are housed in the center core between the two hangar bays.
The project was designed and delivered as part of a design-build competition administered by the Sacramento District of the Corps of Engineers.
