A.Y. McDonald Manufacturing – Brass Foundry

Russell Construction selected Needham DBS as their Design/Build partner for a 350,000 sf foundry project. The facility consists of a complex array of structures designed to accommodate offices, control rooms, sand conveyors, and process equipment. Due to significant gravity loads and lateral earth pressures, the project necessitated the use of deep foundations and rock anchors. The building's exterior features a combination of precast panels and lightweight components for cladding. To support the equipment loads, heavy industrial construction utilizing conventional steel was employed. Needham DBS supplied 2,450 tons of structural steel and 250 tons of steel joists to the project.
